Bourjois Colour Boost Lip Crayon

Hi Beauty Lover!,

I was perusing the shelves in Superdrugs as you do…, as I was on the look out for a new lippy, when I saw the Bourjois Colour Boost Glossy Lip Crayon, they come in 4 colours Peach on the Beach, Orange Punch, Red Sunrise and Fuschia Libre.

I couldn’t decide which colour to go for, so as Superdrugs are doing a special offer of buy 1 get the 2nd half price, well I decided to get all 4 shades!

They are glossy, non-sticky, hydrating, super pigmented and with an SPF of 15 it will protect your lips and keep them looking lovely.  They also have no taste/smell, which can be very strong on some lipsticks!

They do claim that they last 10 hours, which I found on my lips was not the case, they lasted for a maximum of 3/4 as they leave a slight tint on the lips, but easy to reapply.

My favourite in this range is Orange Punch, it’s not as scary orange once on your lips, but I highly recommend all of them.

These are priced at £7.99

Do you use these lip crayons?  What’s your favourite colour?

Body Shop Body Butters

Hey Beauty Lover!

I was reading Essie Buttons’s blog about her Body Shop Haul (I love her blog and YouTube video’s!, you should check her out)  the other day and it got me thinking that I don’t ever use The Body Shop products, and as there is a 3 for 2 on all body butters, makeup and skincare at the moment, I thought why the hell not start now!

As Estee raved about the body butters and my skin is on the dry side, also not wanting to look like a wrinkled prune in my old age.

I wasn’t totally enamored with the fruit flavoured butters, but loved the nut butters and some of the floral ones.

My first one I purchased was Moringa Body Butter:

Moringa Body Butter

This is a lovely rich and hydrating cream and has a light floral scent, which I thought was quite like honeysuckle with an hint of apple freshness, and it’s not over powering like some floral scents.

It is made with Moringa seed oil and as with a lot of the Body Shop products, it contains Community Fair Trade Shea Butter.

It sinks into the skin nicely and leaves it feeling very hydrated all day long, and a little goes along way so a tub will last for ages!.

FULL INGREDIENTS: Aqua, Butyrospermum Parkii Butter, Cyclopentasiloxane, Glycerin, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Vitis Vinifera Seed Oil, Lanolin Alcohol, Moringa Pterygosperma Oil, Sesamum Indicum Oil, Mel, Bertholletia Excelsa Nut Oil, Theobroma Cacao Butter, Parfum, Myristamidopropyl PG-Dimonium Chloride Phosphate, Xanthan Gum, Phenethyl Alcohol, Linalool, Caprylyl Glycol, Hexyl Cinnamal, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Tocopherol, Disodium EDTA, Benzyl Salicylate, Geraniol, Hydroxycitronellal, Sodium Hydroxide, Isoeugenol, Caramel, CI 19140.

Tub size 200ml – £13.00

The next is good old Coconut Oil Body Butter:

Body Shop Coconut Oil Body Butter

This is again a lovely hydrating and thick cream, a bit more solid compared to the Moringa Oil Body Butter. It’s made with Community Fair Trade Organic Coconut Oil and the smell is delicious and exotic, almost good enough to eat!

You only need a little amount of this, as too much will make it greasy on the skin.

FULL INGREDIENTS Aqua (Solvent/Diluent), Glycerin (Humectant), Theobroma Cacao Seed Butter (Emollient), Butyrospermum Parkii (Skin-Conditioning Agent/Emollient), Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil (Emollient), Cetearyl Alcohol (Emulsifier), Glyceryl Stearate (Emulsifier), C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate (Emulsifier), PEG-100 Stearate (Surfactant), Ethylhexyl Palmitate (Skin Conditioning Agent), Cocos Nucifera Oil (Emollient/Hair Conditioner), Bertholletia Excelsa Seed Oil (Emollient), Caprylyl Glycol (Skin Conditioning Agent), Dimethicone (Skin Conditioning Agent), Cera Alba (Emulsifier/Emollient), Parfum (Fragrance), Xanthan Gum (Viscosity Modifier), Sodium Hydroxide (pH Adjuster), Disodium EDTA (Chelating Agent), Benzyl Benzoate (Solvent), Coumarin (Fragrance Ingredient), Butylphenyl Methylpropional (Fragrance Ingredient), Citric Acid (pH Adjuster), Caramel (Colour).

Tub size 200ml – £13.00

And lastly, Olive Body Butter

Body Shop Olive Body Butter

This is made from Community Fair Trade Organic Olive Oil and is the lightest in consistency of the 3 body butter’s I purchased.

It is super hydrating and sinks in nicely.  It has a fresh, delicate scent, I will definitely be using this next time as an after sun as I think this would be lovely and keep the skin nice and hydrated to prevent wrinkles :).

FULL INGREDIENTS: Aqua (Water) (Solvent/Diluent), Olea europaea (Olive Oil) (Emollient), Cyclomethicone (Emollient), Butyrospermum parkii (Shea Butter) (Emollient), Theobroma cacao (Cocoa Butter) (Emollient), Glycerin (Humectant), Glyceryl Stearate (Emulsifier), PEG-100 Stearate (Surfactant), Cetearyl Alcohol (Emulsifier), Lanolin Alcohol (Stabiliser/Emollient), Phenoxyethanol (Preservative), Parfum (Fragrance), Methylparaben (Preservative), Propylparaben (Preservative), Xanthan Gum (Viscosity Modifier), Benzyl Alcohol (Preservative), Disodium EDTA (Chelating Agent), Linalool (Fragrance Ingredient), Butylphenyl Methylpropional (Fragrance Ingredient), Limonene (Fragrance Ingredient), Citronellol (Fragrance Ingredient), Hexyl Cinnamal (Fragrance Ingredient), Hydroxyisohexyl 3-Cyclohexene Carboxaldehyde (Fragrance Ingredient), Geraniol (Fragrance Ingredient), Citral (Fragrance Ingredient), Sodium Hydroxide (pH Adjuster), Eugenol (Fragrance Ingredient), Caramel (Colour), CI 77288 (Colour).

Tub size 200ml – £13.00

Purple Power

Hello Beauty Lover!,

I have been loving the looks that I have seen on Heather Davern Makeup blog, especially the purple’s.  So decided I needed some purples in my life!

After a quick look on my favourite site myeyeshadowconsultant.com to see what blends well together, I settled for MAC’s Seedy Pearl, Plum Dressing and Nocturnelle, unfortunately, they had run out of Seedy Pearl, so the lovely MAC MUA suggested Yogurt as a close alternative.

Aren’t they pretty?!

I promise you they are the same shadow’s!  It’s amazing how different they look once swatched, but bear in mind that when I swatched them,  it was a lovely grey day in UK and I didn’t use any primer to fix.

MAC Yogurt – This is a soft matt pale pink shade. Does take a little building to get it to show, but is a lovely shade and great for blending out other purples and pinks!.

MAC Plum Dressing – This is a beautiful purply-plum-pink shade, and in the MAC veluxe pearl finish, so not too matt and not too shimmery.  This is easily buildable and blendable with a nice smooth texture.

MAC Nocturnelle – This is a  MAC Frost finish and MAC’s definition is pinked-up chrome purple and that’s exactly what it is.  It builds nicely for a smokey eye and works with lots of different colour, such as browns, blues and silvers.

With all of these shades, there is not too much fallout, which is always good :)

What are your favourite purple shades?

J’adore My Eyeshadow Consultant

When I first started getting into makeup and eye shadows, the thing that daunted me the most was pairing eye shadows, as I found it difficult to know which worked well with other colours, so to play it safe, I just stuck to the same one colour for years, which was MAC Sable.

Then once I started getting into watching YouTube and seeing all these amazing makeup artists and beauty bloggers, and they were using lovely colours that I could only dream of wearing, and that is when I found Zabrena at myeyeshadowconsultant.com, and I haven’t looked back since.

Zabrena who runs the site has an incredible knowledge of what colours blend beautifully together and has pictures showing how they look, so it was totally fool-proof for me.

On myeyeshadowconsultant.com you can also choose to become a member for either a monthly fee of $4.95 or yearly $19.95/Year (PayPal) or $29.95/Year (Credit Card), bargain for the yearly amount via PayPal that’s about one MAC eyeshadow (but be warned, it does get addictive purchasing colours to suit the looks Zabrena has put together :) ).

With that bargainous membership you get access to over 1000+ pictures of different looks that Zabrena has put together using products from MAC, Urban Decay, LORAC, Stila, The Balm and more.  There is also a great members only forum with people from around the world, me included ;).

This website has really opened up the use of colour and knowing what suits me and what definitely doesn’t!

* There is no affiliation with myeyeshadowconsultant.com, I just love it :)
