Switchin’…. Going to WordPress.Org

Hi Beauty Lover!,

I have decided to go legit and transfer my blog to a WordPress.Org site instead of the WordPress.Com.

Hopefully this won’t cause any problems, but for those that are following me that might mean you have to re-follow, as I am not sure followers will transfer over too!

I have been thinking about doing this for a little while, as those of you that use WordPress.Com know the limitations that this system has.

So today I have taken the plunge and paid for Bluehost hosting as that seems to be what everyone thinks is the best, and hopefully see you on the other side :)

Thanks for reading :)

MUA – Undress Your Skin – Shimmer Highlighter

Makeup Academy Undress Your Skin - Shimmer Highlighter

Makeup Academy Undress Your Skin - Shimmer Highlighter

Hi Beauty Lover!,

I recently saw MUA Undress Your Skin – Shimmer Highlighter mentioned on Taupe and Pearl’s post (link here to see the post).

As I have been on the lookout for a highlighter to add to my collection, I thought this would be a great one to try. This is an amazing value product as it’s only £3.00, and with its embossed pan, looks seriously more high-end! How could I refuse it….!

As you can see from the swatch it has a lovely glossy pink shimmer, with no large glitter particles to make it sparkly and a little definitely goes a long way.

This is perfect to highlight the tops of my cheeks, my cupids bow and down the centre of my nose to make me look awake and healthy without being overly frosty.

As it’s not so finely milled there is very little fallout, which is great as you don’t want it going everywhere!

I know Kirsty had a problem with the lid of her highlighter, but so far mine is holding up ok.  The only slight con to this would be that this could highlight any large pores if you were to apply too much or having a bad skin day.

This was purchased at Superdrugs £3.00 7.5g, but can be also be purchase online at MUA.

Do you have this highlighter? What are your views on it?

Sally Hansen No Chip (Really?!) Acrylic Top Coat

Sally Hansen No Chip Acrylic Top Coat

Hi Beauty Lover,

Following on from my Sunshine Award.  I want to award the Sally Hansen No Chip Acrylic Top Coat, my very own Duff Award…

I don’t apply nail varnish that often as it’s something that I am not very good at, I always get it on my cuticles and it looks messy.  So when I do them, I want them to last a few day’s at least before chipping!.

So, when I saw this No Chip acrylic top coat I thought that this sounded like my kind of thing.

Well… I have tried this a few times now, it looks so lovely when you apply the top coat, it makes the nail varnish really shiny and is a glossy to the touch when dry.

But it chips like a mad thing. I thought it was my technique, so I made sure that I use OPI Chip Skip prior to my manicure, but alas, it still chips within 12 hours of applying the varnish, and in weird ways too, on my thumb it has chipped in the middle of the nail varnish, rather than the edge!

So I am sorry Sally Hansen, but I will not be getting/using this again!

Have you used this top coat? what is your thoughts on it, does it work for you?  also, any recommendations for a new top coat greatly appreciated :)

The questions Charlotte gave me are:

Do you have a favourite makeup/cosmetic brand and if so, which one and why?

Yes, my favourite brand is MAC Cosmetics, they have such good quality products, and I feel like a kid in a sweet shop when I go to their counter in my local department store.

Is there a particular fashion style that inspires you?

I am not a major follower of fashion, I’m more into casual clothing, but I really love the style of Dita Von Teese (the sophisticated version, not glamour!) and love the style of the 40’s, very glamorous and elegant.

If I were to open your wardrobe, what would be the predominant colour I would see?

I would say blue or brown, I love those colours and as I have blue eye’s. they make them pop.

Have you ever owned a shell suit and if so, why, just why?!

Erm… yes back in the day when they were first in fashion in the 80’s, and yes they were in fashion!

Christmas Eve or New Years Eve?

Definitely New Years eve as I always have a great night with my friends, to welcome in the new year!

What colour/s is your bedroom?

My bedroom is a mixture of biscuit/stone coloured walls and I have a feature wall with dark blue wallpaper.

How many lip products do you have in your handbag right now?

Today I have 3 lip products in my bag Bourjois Colour Boost  in Orange Punch, Vaseline lip salve and MAC Creme Cup lipstick

If you could live anywhere, where would it be and why?

Either Spain or Cornwall.  Spain for the lovely weather and laid back lifestyle and Cornwall to live near the sea and have more open space around me.

If you could only wear one pair of shoes for the rest of your life, what style would they be?

Wedges, as they always make you look taller and great for slimming the legs

Is your glass half full or half empty?

Definitely half full, I am always optimistic, where as my hubby is the opposite!

Do you have a celebrity crush and if so, on whom?

Can I have two?! I have had a crush on for the longest time on Brad Pitt, obvious but oh so gorgeous! My second crush is the delectable Hugh Jackman especially as Wolverine, hubba hubba!

My Nominee’s for the Sunshine Award are (in no particular order)…

Now my questions for my nominee’s…

  1. How long have you been blogging?
  2. Favourite high street store?
  3. If stranded on a desert island what 3 beauty items could you not live without?
  4. Any tattoo’s or piercings?
  5. What is your favourite makeup brand?

  7. Twitter or Facebook?
  8. How often do you blog?
  9. What is your favourite thing about blogging?

  11. Dream job?

I hope you enjoyed my answers and I look forward to reading the post’s of the people I have nominated.
